Jacob Murr born 4 July 1783, Washington County, Tennessee, died 1878, Blount County, Tennessee. "Tenn Jake" as we called him. Jake located near Maryville, Tennessee, where he married. His two (2) brothers, Jonathon and Jerry, left Washington County when he did. Jonathon located on Tennessee River on line between Blount and Monroe Counties. John H. Murr did not say where Jerry located. "This set of Murr's emigrated from Germany early 17th Century."

Married: (1) 30 December 1847, Eva Catherine Long, Blount County, Tennessee. He was in Civil War, Co H. 2nd. Regt. TN. Calv. Vol. Union. He was wounded seriously when his horse fell on him in 1863. Isaac alive 1869 Estate Settlement. Possibly died 1870-72.

3c. John Rankin Murr married: (1) 14 March 1874, Katherine "Katy" Sands. Katy died 5 September 1875, buried Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blount County, Tennessee. "She hung herself, was despondent over loosing the Baby."
